Auto Transformers are very useful to save cost. Auto Transformers with the same power rating capability is less expensive than Isolation transformers. Auto Transformers are very useful for voltage and or current step up or step down applications. Auto Transformers have some limitations. They are not a replacement for all Isolation Transformers requirements. L/C Magnetics can manufacture Auto transformers up to 500 KVA power rating. We offer single phase and three phase solutions. All units are custom designed and built to order. We have the proper tooling and winding machines to give you a fast turn around. The 305 KVA Auto Transformer shown above is 15″ x 15″ x 15″ (3375 cube inch volume) approximately. The equivalent Isolation Transformer would be 30″ x 30″ x 30″ (27000 cube inch volume) approximately.
